Is StomperNet all Buzz and Hype?

Posted by Marty Rozmanithon October 6th, 2006

stomper.jpegThose of you involved in web marketing probably found out about the StomperNet launch two days ago. Andy Jenkins and Brad Fallon claim it was the biggest launch in Internet history, and it drove their site to an Alexa rank of 134 yesterday!

For those not Alexa-savvy, that means only 133 sites had more traffic out of the billions on the net

Why? Well, the guys posted 3 videos for a few days and tipped off several big-time internet marketers who informed their member lists. One of the videos showed a result for Andy’s Yahoo Store product outranking Yahoo’s own results on a search for the keyword “yahoo store.” Certainly impressive. So, the demand was huge, there were only 1000 spots and thus the price was, lets just say, expensive. They didn’t even mention the price on the sales page.

Well, yours truly GOT IN to StomperNet, so we’ll see what all the buzz is about. Brad and Andy are typically pretty good about sharing information, so I’ll be writing about anything that isn’t strictly taboo.

They say their true unfair competitive advantage is StomperNet itself, which I’m guessing is a large, SEO optimized network full of PageRank that they can point to any site they want to drive it to the top of the results page. But I speculate…

We’ll find out the facts soon for sure…

SO…. it’s been two full weeks? What’s the scoop? Is StomperNet all it was cracked up to be? I’m not looking for you to pass on any critical info, as I’m guessing that’s not permitted or ethical. BUT… I’m really curious, do you see this as being
1) worth the $$$?
2) a revolutionary new approach?
3) just a repackaging of existing ideas?

Those of us too poor to participate are dieing to know!

Thanks for commenting. StomperNet is very well thought out, but it will take a couple months to know whether it will be worth it. My guess so far is that it will be. Given the tools and the infrastructure, it should drive lots of traffic if you know how to monetize it. Read my most recent article for more!

How about the fact that Brad’s flagship site is not in the top 50 for wedding favors. It looks to me that the wrath of google is coming down upon the stompers. Any insight from the inside? Does it mean that google bombing is history?
